The Ship's Company Boat Section

The mission of the Ship’s Company Boat Section is to acquire, restore, maintain, and operate traditional boats in support of Ship’s Company’s maritime historical activities and goals. The Boat Coordinator is Michael Bosworth, and the Deputy Coordinator is Steve Jones. Julian Karpoff and Steve Deatherage are our licensed captains. We are currently concentrating on getting our flotilla and crew in top condition for the upcoming Bicentennial of the War of 1812 (2012 through 2015).

* Our 14-foot JOLLYBOAT is trailered and often used in re-enactment events. She has two rowing positions and is yawl-rigged with a standing lug main and marconi mizzen.

* The GIG, a 15-ft light cutter – under construction by Ship’s Company members. She will be car-topable and serve as ship’s boat for the Resolution.

* A 25-foot CUTTER – in design. Design shall complete and construction planning will commence upon completion of the Gig.

* Our 42-ft schooner RESOLUTION has undergone an extensive hull, deck, and engine overhaul. She now resides in her winter berth in Deale, MD. Current work includes preparing her hull, rig, outfit, and armament for the 2009 re-enactment season. She will be berthed at Historic Londontown on the South River for activities and display during 2009. Boatkeeper is Julian Karpoff.
